In 1979, Bez Ambar began his career by conceiving of a square-shaped diamond. This created the modern Princess cut diamond, to rival the round brilliant cut. The greatest advantage of a square-shape over a round-shape is that squares can sit flush.
To take advantage of this, Bez created the first piece of "invisible setting". It is prong-less, border-less diamond jewelry. Bez then adapted this techinque to round diamonds, and termed this the 'Boundless setting'.
In order to improve how a diamond breaks up the light, Bez created a cut with fewer, larger facets. His blaze cut has only 13 main facets, to produce larger bursts of vivid color.
